In The Pocket Artists is a full service national booking agency, that was officially launched in April 2006. The company's founder and president Gabe Johnson worked full time as a national booking agent at Simon Says Booking for nearly 5 years, and boasts over 15 years experience in the music business.
The focus of this agency is on youth-driven, original music that's "got pocket", in particular Funk, Soul, Reggae, Afrobeat and Hip-Hop, but also some Rock and Jazz.
All of the bands on this roster are easily marketed to young audiences, making it a valuable one stop shop for talent buyers at colleges, private high schools, festivals, special events and of course, clubs and theaters across the U.S.
Gabe's knowledgeable and down to earth business style is rooted in almost ten years on the road as a touring musician himself (Jive Talkin' Robots, Soulwork and others 1991-2001). Because of his history, Gabe understands what elements make a touring act successful, and has a unique perspective on his client's experience. In addition, he understands the needs and expectations of talent buyers, giving him the tools to serve both sides of the business better.
